Addressing The Drug Toxicity Crisis
We know that the solutions to addressing the addiction crisis are not just in a doctor's office or treatment facility, and are committed to tackling this crisis with a wide range of policies and services, including;
- Declaring the drug toxicity crisis a public health emergency.
- Ending the criminalization of addiction so that people dealing with addiction can get the help they need without fear of arrest
- Working with the provinces to create a safe supply of medically regulated alternatives to toxic street drugs, support overdose prevention sites and other forms of peer-to-peer harm reduction services.
- Increasing access to therapy and community support for hard reduction and addiction treatment services staff.
